Poor price due to slow ebay?

2 of my auctions just finished both for trainers, exactly the same but different sizes (1 size a part). Had a lot of interest and 10+ bids on both, 1 pair shot up earlier today and then ebay obviously started having server problems and neither pair were bid on since! Even though both had several watchers, this so unfair.

I watch a tremendous amount of items that I never bid on, so I don't think you can always set a lot of store by how many watchers an auction has. It's a bit like a hobby with me.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
This isn't fair no!! Perhaps contact ebay and see what they say...you have nothing to lose!

Maybe nobody wanted to bid more??
On what basis did ebay "obviously" have server problems? its been fine here all the time i've used it today.0 -

If you know this for certain then contact them, have any bidders contacted you saying they were unbale to bid??
Just because your auction wasn't bid on near the end or didn't reach the price you expected does not mean it was Ebay's fault.
Another good example of the 'blame culture' that's sweeping the UK.

It's been down most of the time I've tried to use it today! Seems to be working now, though. FloFlo, feel free to complain to eBay if it makes you feel better, but you'll just get a generic reply from their computer. You'll never know whether your trainers would have made more money without eBay's server problems, so you'll just have to get over it and hope for better luck next time.5thElement wrote:Maybe nobody wanted to bid more??

I had 1 error message today but that was it.....just think it is a bad selling time right now....i wouldn't bother listing until about a week from now...nearer payday...
You know it is a bad selling time when ebay offer 10p listing days like tomorrow.....people are skint so don't bother and remember people are now thinking xmas pressies, so sell things that are suitable0 -
I had some problems with ebay yesterday evening but I could bid if I persevered, so I don't think the system was actually 'down' I think it was just a bit slow and awkward.
Trainers are cheap, I recently bought some for my son in JJB for £10, so unless you were selling brand new designer ones on a 99p start you might never sell them due to postage costs. Look at all the pages and pages of trainers that finished in the past month and see if others similar to yours have sold at the price you were hoping for. If so, try a relist today (but avoid 10 day auctions as servers do tend to go down 10 days after a cheap listing day).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I failed to make a bid on an item because of fleabay's sloth.
Looking at the way the bidder had inched above the previous high  I would have won.
Still, what y'gonna do?0
