I sold something yesterday and I clearly put in very large letters collection only. The person who won the item (a camcorder and bits -non working,£2.22) wants me to package it up and she will send a courier! She's offered me an extra £5 for the packaging but I really don't want the hassle of hanging around waiting for a courier! Do I have to agree or can I refuse!

You can (and should) insist that buyer collects as per the auction terms. Sending a courier is not the same as colelcting in person. Can you just confirm how much it went for though was it only £2.22 as that seems odd for a buyer to pay a courier and give you extra money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am guessing it is the sort of thing that someone 'in the know' could break down for parts and it is worth a lot more to the right person (if they happen to live in your area.
You do not have to accept the courier. SHe should have asked before bidding and you are well within your rights to refuse. Just say that due to your other commitments it is not feasible to make arrangements, or something.
If you want to re-sell it, you could work out the cost to send it by Royal Mail and re-list it. It might make a lot more if you were willing to post it.0 -
Cheers, I have to admit it seemed strange to want to send a courier for a broken camcorder? It does come with 4 mini dv tapes, battery, charger and bag? But the tape is jammed inside the mechanism and Panasonic wanted a daft amount just to look at it! So I was hoping to regain a little back. I've replied saying no, it was collection only but I just wanted to check if I was within my rights to do so? Oh and it was sold for just £2.22, no-one seemed interested!
