OS solution to mouldy windowframes?

Having the same problem as Eels100 with condensation and mould in our bedrooms I have now invested in some tea tree oil and star drops. I also got some towels in the bedroom to dry the windows with in the morning and open the windows.
The worst problem I got now is that the mould has attacked the blinds and curtains as well and I can’t get them clean.
Do I have to buy new ones or can I soak them in a solution that get rid of the mould stains?
Edit: Just found a tread here for mould on curtains as well. This site is fantastic! :)Will try the advice later, need to buy some washing soda first.0 -
We tend to get quite a lot of condensation on our windows, especially during cold nights, and this has resulted in the window sills getting quite mouldy recently.
Can anyone recommend the best way to get rid of it?0 -
I used a mild bleach solution when I had this problem.
There is some more information on this in the index. I'll have a look for you.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

!!! Great stuff, I swear by it for the nasty black stuff on my bathroom grout, but I do worry what its doing for my health !!0 -
Prevention is better than cure - try and ventilate the room as well, even if it's only keeping the window ajar.
The water vapour in the air we breathe out is attracted to the cold surface of the window and it condenses on this surface.
Like the others have suggested, use a bleach solution to get rid of the black mould0 -

I have to agree with Nessie you can get rid of what is already there but you need to get to the root of the cause.
I get a small amount on my bedroom windows. But I leave them on a first latch and that seems to stop most of the problems.
I suffer more in the kitchen due to having damp washing around and cooking.
