Amazon Marketplace - sellers can change description AFTER a sale

Ok here is what happened. I bought a book from an amazon market place seller. It was described as used-mint and the comments had NO reference to it being an ex-library.
Book arrives, the description says used-like new and the comments say it is a former school library book.
IMPOSSIBLE says the seller......
Well digging around on the internet I found this thread in the Amazon Seller Forum.

Basically the implication is that the seller can give the book (or item) a glowing set of comments and if they realise there is a sale pending they can nip in quick while the sale is still "pending" and they can re-list a lower grade book and THAT description will show up on your higher grade sale.
You then get the trashy item they had all along and there is nothing you can do to prove that the original description that you saw and read is not the same as is what is now showing.

Just as a matter of accuracy, it is not a sale if it is merely pending. It does not become a sale on Amazon until buyer manages to pay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
