I have received a final notice from Parkingeye. I have appealed. I parked my car to go to Nuffield Gym as I was on a lifeguard training session which lasted 2 hours. I forgot to input my registration number into the machine Nuffield have saying I would be longer than 2 hours. I got a fine. I appealed saying that I was on a training session and had not just parked my car and gone shopping! I am not paying this as I think I have a valid reason and have supplied them with my training record. They dont reply but send me letters and a Final Notice. Now they are wanting me to pay £80 within the next 7 days then they will send a court judgement. I dont want to pay this and am hanging out to see what they do next. Am I right and what can I expect.

" I have appealed."
Waste of a stamp there, I bet you 10p that you will get a letter saying your appeal has been turned down.
Just ignore ignore and ignore. IIRC Parking Eye don't do court, they just send you lovely letters from various people asking you to pay. The lovely letters are detailed on this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803
And it's not a fine, just an invoice, only councils, police & courts have the power to fine you.0 -
Seconded, look at the link and find the Parking Eye rubbishy letter-chain.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have just been googling the Solicitors behind parkingeye who are Graham White & Co and have tried to find them on the Law Society and they dont seem to be listed. Also the name Charles Gray came up after reading the forums so I tried to find him on The Law Society and he doesnt seem to exist. I also google earth the street view and found the office of Graham White & Co. Dont know why Im doing this because I have no intention of paying - guess Im trying to kill a bit of time before X Faxtor and I am Celebrity!!0

Thank you for that all very interesting. Wonder what my next letter will be from Parkingeye. Bring it on!0

Have just received a letter from parkingeye to say that my fine had been cancelled. Just when I was all set to play their game they gave up!0

Possibly trying to get their appeal success rate up to try and show the powers that be they do allow appeals. They know they are going to be called on this as the percentage is way down!
Glad it worked for you, however don't be surprised if you do hear more!0 -
I better keep my letter in a safe place just in case - thanks for that.0

I thought I would just check Parkingeyes site and typed in the parking charge notice number and there it was £80.00 still outstanding against my registration number. Lets see what happens next - think you maybe right - better keep this letter as evidence if they try again. Thanks0

I wasn't trying to scare you but it has been known after a charge was cancelled a debt collector has tried to collect. I think some employees of these companies may be a little light on intelligence. They could well press the wrong button. Hopefully you wont hear no more but as you say keep the letter!;)0
