Just been through exactly what you felt.

It took the seller over 5 weeks to bother sending anything back to his solicitor, citing he was too busy with work. Personally I think that is a poor excuse as I also am too busy with work but can easily find time to deal with something as big as a property transaction.

Keep pushing the EA and your solicitor to get answers.

I went through similiar emotions, at one point I assumed it was going to fall through. And now I am completing on Wednesday.
  • Congratulations shimano!

Our solicitor has finally recieved something... the seller's solicitor has given us the same excuse too...

    Good luck with your completion!
  • Good news snow_suzi....keep on top of them as you need to be very very pro-active to get through to exchange. Expect days of tears, frustration, anger, relief, anxiety, and then hopefully elation! It is an awfully stressful process made worse if people take their time...this goes for solicitors too!

Great news, the two main pain points of the process for me was that first few weeks, and the final run up to exchange, as the solicitor was chasing last minute questions. Exchanging was a huge relief. I went through so many thoughts that it would fall through, mortgage would get withdrawn etc. All ended up being stupid thoughts with no basis.

As long as you have a dilligent solicitor, it will be fine. I am glad that I went with a well known solicitor who charges more than average but was impressive in the work she done.

I complete tomorrow, all funds inc mortgage company's waiting in solicitor's bank..hasn't hit me 100% yet I am about to own my first place
