Not sure what to do, surrendering a reptile to the RSPCA or similar?

I would also say do not call the RSPCA. They are not good with reptiles. Definitely contact specialist centres and search online for rehoming sites. I think the "Livefood" website has one0

Another vote from me for trying the guys at www.reptileforums.co.uk they really know there stuff and you may even find a experianced keeper willing to take him on - good luck.0

definitely another vote for https://www.rfuk.co.uk
they are a fantastic forum (we used to keep reptiles), and you will find someone on there willing to give this guy a forever home, or offer advice on where you could rehome him0 -
The RSPCA utilise these private herp rescues, so it may be nicer to contact one directly and know where he has gone.
Depending on where you are consider local colleges that teach animal care, they often have well cared for animal collections and the facilities to deal with larger herps.
Good luck, having seen alot of badly cared for herps, well done so far!Give yourself a Chistmas bonus £14 a week!
Total so far £280
