    In theory they should, if they did this though it would probably end up costing the policyholder more in the long run as they would have a voided policy on their record

  • Just to let you all know, I listened to all the advice and caved! I didn't have a leg to stand on legally, and if I relied on a fairplay decision by the FOS, they may decide that Diamond's offer of £60 was fair. I negotiated a full and final payment of £25 which is pretty good really.

    Gutted that I went back to Diamond in the first place, but counting my lucky stars that I never had an accident in the past three years! Small price to pay.
