Calling Three mobiles

Why does it cost more with some (all?) landline providers to call 3 mobiles than other mobile numbers?

I'm sure 3 were campaigning to lower line termination fees to make calls between mobiles cheaper so surely they're not the ones specifying these fees for landline users?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver!
They paid billions at auction for their frequencies so I'm fairly sure it is them with the high termination rates causing many providers to charge more to call a '3' mobile.

    I use 18185 myself - 6p/minute to any mobile.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
