Someone stood on foot 2 weeks ago

Options
Hi again,

Someone stood full bodyweight on my foot 2 weeks ago and it's still really painful.

They stood right on the front of my foot, right on 3 toes that were fused years ago. This means that the bones are rigid with no joints.

I was (and am) in agony. I went to the hospital for an x ray and told they weren't broke.

Questions:
1. Is it normal to be in this much pain 2 weeks later

2. The pain seems to be in the areas that used to have joints. could it be the areas that were jointed are weaker therefore more susceptible, or do you think there's a possibility that I may have a hairline fracture that didn't show up. Or could it just be a coincidence that the main pain is in that area?

Hospital weren't very nice. I was obviously worried due to the ongoing foot problems and the awful pain. I was concerned in case the toes would require pinning if they were broke as that is what happened originally when they were fused. At that time one hadn't set and so had to be pinned again, so I was worried in case that would need to be done. I know that they don't do anything but strap toes now but like I said my toes were originally pinned and repinned when one didn't set

I was just left to get home on my own. No money, they gave me a stick suitable for a midget and that was it. A lovely lady from Tynemouth saw me and gave me a lift home

I don't personally really know much about fused toes and wot not,but if you are still in pain I would be inclined to go and see your GP. You can voice your concerns to him/her and tell him you are still in pain. Maybe he can refer you to a specialist (bone?).

You really shouldn't be suffering in pain, there must be still something wrong.

The person who stood on your foot must of badly bruised that area,so it maybe just needs more time to heal properly.

Please just go to your GP,as he is the one who can help you and can give you the answers you need.. Don't sit at home suffering.

Good Luck and hope you feel a lot better soon x

  • Do you know what? I've had such a crap time lately, made worse yesterday by a gestapo doctors receptionist who I reckon could only be got past with a Sherman Tank - I wouldn't care, I was there trying to do a good deed for my dad and get him a walking stick as the one he's got is too short - so to get a nice response like the one above is really nice.

I'm sitting here at the library in pain with all my health problems, constantly worrying about my life so Thank you for taking the time out to reply and to reply so nicely. Not everyone in this world is rotten, even though it seems like it.

Sorry, I'm a bit maudling. Live on my own and just worrying about stuff!!!

If you are in such pain are you helping yourself, put it up whenever you can, it needs rest to help the healing.

Do you have any baby oil, its a mazing what a 5 minute massage with baby oil can do. (then put your feet up)

Maybe because you are in pain and worrying it shows on your face and perhaps the receptionist took it as if you were scowling at her and so retaliated without thinking.

Have a look at the top of here, where it says new posts, its a brilliant part of the boards and if you are a bit bored living on your own this can be a great time user upper if you see what I mean.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Now make yourself a cuppa and have a choccie biccy.:D

Come back on here if you need somebody to chat to.
    Regards

That sounds really painful. I think that there could be a hairline crack that hasn't shown up. Share your worries on here, we're not all bad.!! Hope you get your foot sorted out. My mam once stabbed herself through her wellington, straight into the top of her foot with a garden fork.!! Not a pretty sight.

    Hi CF

LOL I love the bit about the Sherman Tank! made me chuckle!

I am very sorry to hear about your dad, looks like both of you are going through the wars(pardon the pun)(Sherman tank lol)

I think most peeps are going through a crap time,I am no exception. (my husband had an accident at work back in June, which led to an inguinal hernia injury, and 6 months down the line,he is still suffering with the pain. Hes been back and forth to his GP)

Seriously tho, as soon as Monday comes, ask to see your GP urgently. There is help out there, but it is just a matter of finding the right people to deal with your specific problems.

I agree with McNeff and theMull, not all people are unfriendly,so if you need a chat, don't hesitate to voice your problems here.

good luck and take care bf xx

While I agree that you should get your GP to review, if you bruise areas around the bones, it normally takes 4 - 6 weks for this to resolve.

If it's a very sharp pain, then a fracture is a distinct possibility. Broken toes and fingers hurt out of all proportion. Best to see your GP, but don't be surprised if you get a 'wait and see' response!
