I hope you got a proof of posting from the Post Office when you posted the parcel. If you did, you're in luck, you can use that to claim back the cost of the item from Royal Mail. Please note though that you must sort out the claim (not the buyer) and you should refund the buyer and not wait until the claim is processed by RM.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
ok thanks, so i will just pray that i have not chucked my receipt away!! tbh i thought i would have heard sooner as i told her i had sent it 1st class...surely she would have expected it within a few days and let me know if not?!!! i'm i being unfair??0

Hi BB, if you print off the Paypal transaction page with the refund amount and send it with your claim to RM it really helps, it can be the difference between a book of stamps and the whole item value.;)Clean straw and pig nuts, a right not a privilege.0

The buyer knew you had posted the item so perhaps when it it didn't arrive they entered royal mail lost post into Google and was told to wait 15 working days which they did. Only an idea.0 -
Actually it's the opposite way round. People will be surprisingly patient, but you don't really know it's lost until it's been a week or two without anything showing.broke_babydee wrote: »ok thanks, so i will just pray that i have not chucked my receipt away!! tbh i thought i would have heard sooner as i told her i had sent it 1st class...surely she would have expected it within a few days and let me know if not?!!! i'm i being unfair??
I bought something small, I forgot about it, and it was about two weeks before I logged into eBay, saw I had bought it, and then realised it hadn't turned up. I emailed the seller and they sorted me out with a replacement --- and then my mother picked the parcel up off the front doorstep. I paid for the replacement and will probably use it as a present for someone. It was only £3 so no biggie.
To sum up: the longer they wait, the more likely they are to be genuine."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If all you have is a proof of posting then you may as well not bother and just refund. Only Recorded Delivery, or Special Delivery, are really of any use, the former only if they bothered to track it.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

AS above.
The COP though will at least enable the OP to claim her losses from RM.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
