Lending to daughter

Thanks everyone. I have sat her down and gone through it all. Today is her day off, so she went to the bank, but they would not help, infact they told her to ask her parents! She then went to the CAB who have told her to go to CCCS and look at getting a DRO.
So it seems she is now taking it seriously and the bank of mum is firmly closed.0 -
I am glad that you have decided to close up shop. Tough love is hard but she will thank you in the end.
Good luck and all the best

Hi,
Not sure if it's too late to contribute?
I have read your original post & skim read the rest, so apologies if I am just repeating others'. I agree with you that giving her more money is probably not helpful in the long-term but I wondered about other ways. I think the two of you need to sit down & go through each debt & help her to explain what she bought and why (I am think of helping her to get to her LBM rather than telling her off). It sounds like she need to take more responsibility for her money & how she spends it (as we all do). I guess I wasn't clear how much see knows about money (interest rates, time it takes to repay etc)?
