Because British Gas is the only energy supplier who will have massive profits and increased prices.......!!!!!! get real.
Edit: If you try and switch supplier with a debit balance outstanding, then BG will block the transfer.
You might be able to set up an installment plan with their debt team - over a period of around 3 months.0 -
You will get a final bill when you leave0

You will have to pay any outstanding monies before you are allowed to leave0

Just to break it down a little more:
It's if your debt with BG has been outstanding for more than 28 days is when BG will object and stop you transferring. If there is a zero balance and then you get a final bill that is different!0 -

Pretty much sums up my view on this.
Whoever you move to (not inc SSE) are undoublty going to have an increase shortly, your better of checking for better tariffs as opposed to jumping from provier to provider at a time when all of them are going up.0 -
Hi, if you owe just a small amount ( under £150 ) the switch will usually go through ok as long as you haven't a history of payment problems with them, you will then recieve a final bill to be paid within 28 days. If you owe more, there is the possibility that the switch will be blocked.0
