Magimix compatability?

Are different models of Magimix compatable.
My husband (he's not DH:mad:) has broken the lid of my Magimix 3000.
A replacement is £56.00 (maybe P&P too):(
At that price it would almost be better to replace:eek:
But I would like to get a replacement so I can pass it onto my DD rather than dump:eek:
If I knew about model compatability I could search ebay, maybe their are other models that have the same lid?
I've searched Magimix compatability & for a Magimix forum, anyone know?
Many thanks

Try e bay for the same model- you might be able to get a whole one that's broken and going for spares and repair?
Also I snapped a bit off my food processor lid (the plastic tab that locks into the safety interlock bit) but MrS is quite handy and Araldited it back into place - it's as good as new. Is that an option?0 -

I have, only one & its the other end of the country:(
If for instance the 3000, 4000 & 5000 were all the same circumference but different in height, then I could widen the net on ebay.
He's tried superglue, not good, its the bit that sticks out of the lid & makes it "go".
Is Araldited different?
Never heard of Araldited:o0 -

Never heard of Araldited:o
Sorry, I was being a bit hasty - the glue is Araldite and I used araldited to mean that MrS had stuck the two bits together using Araldite. Araldite is a brand name for an epoxy resin glue - it comes in two tubes, one's got the glue stuff and the other tube has another chemical which acts as a hardner. Nothing happens until you mix the two together which causes the glue to set.
MrS isn't here but otherwise I'd ask him - if it's the clear plastic that most food processor bodies are made from then I presume he's used epoxy for a reason and not superglue. If you're reasonably confident it might be worth getting some epoxy and giving that a go? Sand down the surfaces you need to glue together with a bit of fine sandpaper (or the fine side of a nail file!) to get rid of any superglue and to get a nice rough surface for things to stick together.0 -
Also I'm pretty sure that the 3000/4000/5000 models have different bowl diameters unfortunately - but this is just based on my shop browsing.0

Replied.
DH glued it with that Araldite today, but I don't think it will hold that long.
Its on the big you wrench it into the handle to make it go.
I would like to get a proper lid so I can pass it onto DD when I upgrade to a new model one day - but saying that mine is more than fine for now.0 -
Hope 'we' are lucky with the freegle ad. I recently got a small fibre pond for my 4 NEW lovely lovely(messy o yes) ducks on there. 6 eggs this past 6 days and out of season I'm told for eggs....but one of the drakes is at all the time.. so any eggs need collecting for sure. We are not experienced enough as yet for ducklings...they dont stay fluffy for long and not many people want drakes same for cockerells so could be a big problem for us. I digested somewot....must be my age. Dianne0

If George wasn't such an avid hunter I would get a few chickens:D
But he would sit by their pen all day everyday, you could never let them out.
There are a lot of cats around here. How does that work with cats & chickens/ducks?0
