Any idea how much I should be expecting to carpet the above room with good quality carpet and underlay & grippers? Thanks

It really depends on the cost of the carpet per m you want to pay.

    4 m x 4 m approx.is 16 square M so multiply the cost per M by 16

do the same with the underlay per m.

    add about £20 for grippers.

Add it al together, thats the material costs.

Fitter - do it yourself, or ask a fitter or the place where you buy the carpet for a quote for laying 16m of carpet.

I guess if it costs £16 a square meter and with good underlay which can be as expensive. I will not have much change from £500. Thanks

There are different grades of underlay, however, if your putting good carpet down then put good underlay down. This should really only be about £5 per m.

Got a quote from carpet right, the room is 11 by 11 ft, she estimated 13.6 at £15.99 - 20% discount at £217.46. It came to £376 with underlay quoted at £6.99, £83.99+ 32.50+£11.99+£74.00. I do not how much the fitting cost whether it is £74. Thanks
