Acer tech support?

Hi

I have read various posts recommending Acer laptops.

Does anyone know about or had experience of their tech support? I am assuming the laptop would come with 12 months guarantee, but havent been able to find any details of their tech support, phone or otherwise, which is included in the purchase price.

Thanks

Sue

    Yes

I've got a travelmate. The charging socket went intermittent so I phoned tech support. They sent a courier to pick it up, then returned it just under two weeks later with a replacement main board fitted. All completely fine and I was able to keep my existing hard drive data (though i did back-up just in case).
    Recommended.

Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

Is the tech support a premium rate number?

    Thanks

A very quick Google produced the UK site - support link at the bottom of the page: http://www.acer.co.uk/

Why do you say that? I bought my Acer laptop from laptopsdirect and they were very good.

It's a long story, I'll keep it as short as possible.

They mis-advertised the product, sold me extra RAM I didn't order and charged for same. Sent it back to get a replacement, they said they had no stock (even the one I sent back apparently?!) and are now not going to refund me the full cost - they're withholding the delivery charge, despite it being their fault. All this has taken over 3 weeks.

    A disgrace of a company.

Search for reviews for them on google and you'll see what I mean...

    Help?
I bought a Samsung MP3 YP-U2 X 512MB player on Sunday. For two days I've tried to get it to work on my PC and another. I can see the USB green icon, but the Samsung software and My Computer doesn't register it. When I try to safely remove it it freezes my PC. My IT colleague confirms this. I'm planning to return it, but feel a little nervous about doing so....Doed this make sense? I've had an MP3 before aand own two USB sticks - so I'm no fool or am I?

If you value your sanity dont buy ACER,their C.S. is c**p,thats if you ever get through in the first place. My laptop stopped working after 2mths so i had to return it to them. Its a premium rate number and you are held in a long queue and when you get to ist in queue you get cut off and have to start all over again. It cost me £10.00 just to phone them and they are unhelpfull and very abrupt.Wish i had never bought ACER.AVOID!
