Hi everyone,
I have 2 dwarf lops (brother and sister ) they are now 8 months old, the little boy was sent to the vets to be neutered as soon as he was old enough, but unfortunatly not quite early enough, and I now have 3 gorgeous baby bunnies, they are 4 weeks old now.
I separated dad from mum and babies, and she got on with rearing them, he however sulked for england at having been moved out of his marital home.
What im wondering is, now the babies are hopping about and feeding and waiting another couple of weeks to be rehomed can dad go back into the big cage and shed with them, Mum and babies have a 4ft x 4ft cosy warm shed a huge cage and run, dad has a small cage and run, I worried about the cold weather, and thought he would be much better in the shed over the winter, would it be ok to put him back in with the mum and babies now?
Thanks
Jayne

Sorry I've no experience in breeding as all my buns are spayed/neutered but personally I would not try it as I'd be worried about his reaction towards the babies and/or that mummy bun would be over protective and attack dad. Rabbits are very territorial. Also how long ago was he neutered? He can still get her pregnant up to 6 weeks post op.0

Now they are seperated, I think you will have to re-bond them from scratch. Its not just a case of putting them back together. Once the babies are rehomed, you could try them on neutral territory to see how they get on. The best situation would be to get her neutered as well and then try bonding them because females can be very territorial and hormonal when not neutered. Try going on the rabbit forums especially rabbit rehome for some great advice on bonding. Hope it all works out:)0
