Freeholder With Problem

I am the freeholder of the block of flats I live in, the ground floor flat have put up a camera in the communal hallway to see who is at their front door, so everytime the rest of the flats go in and out the building they can see us. Can they do this? Can't find a clause in the lease saying they can't but really feel like it is invading my privacy and it is kinda making me and any guest that come round paranoid that they are watching us as we go in and out!
I might be over reacting but surely they have to ask my permission to put stuff up in communal areas?
Any advice appreciated!

Really I can't see that unless anybody was up to no good that there is logic in objecting to this.
We are all filmed on cct cameras thousands of times in a year without being aware of it & in the age we live in where safety & security are real concerns & issues they have a real role to play.
It's possible that technically they should have asked your permission to install this in the communal area, but hadn't realised that something like a camera would be an issue & an objection raised. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I think what they did is wrong, your the freeholder, they havent installed the camera on their property, but in the communal areas and therefore I think you are within your rights to get them to take it down.Pawpurrs x
