Buying to sell on Ebay

Hi folks.
I am registered on ebay as a business and i buy and sell new items from the high street and on-line to re-sell on. i also sell sceond hand and collectable items too.
i often see items which no-one seems to be selling on ebay. now, that may be for a reason, but i would like to give it a go in some cases.
would/do any manufacturers/wholesalers take offence at this at all? it wouldn't be major manufacturers/companies etc (nothing to do with make-up of hair straighteners for example)?
thanks in advance for any comments x

Yes they do fireside, there's a VERO list on eBay, it's not much use though as it's hopelessly out of date, i'd give you a link but as you can see I'm a new member and can't post links.:(
I suspect the items you find no one selling on eBay are absent due to this VERO list, some manufacturers are rottweiler like in their approach to this, especially designers.Clean straw and pig nuts, a right not a privilege.0 -
As above, some do some don't.
Try checking with live help on Ebay before listing if you don't want to mention brands on here.
Some brands will more or less automatically be removed and your account could be restricted for attempting to sell..0 -
thanks for that.
i had a quick look - i don't think i will have a problem, it's in the pet-related product kind-of-area!
i have had a proper look on ebay and found that there is the odd seller with the items i have in mind.
often, i think that even if others are selling it, i can see a way to sell/market or package differently - but it is never 'big' brands.0 -
You dont want to buy a palletful of goods that ebay do not allow for one reason or another, Some brands
do not like their goods being sold on ebay, It is below them.
Same way some clothing companies disliked UK stores selling their goods at discounted prices.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
thanks again.
no, no pallets for me at the moment - have not got to that stage yet (no room and work full-time already).
often (as in this case) it is things that i buy/use anyway.0 -

In some cases, some wholesalers/companies don't sell to people who say they trade on eBay, but this is more likely to be in the designer area (e.g. Radley) than in pet supplies.
Go for it. If you think you've got a market, then there's nothing to lose. I once had the only copies of a certain series of book on the whole of eBay (including international) and they sold for way over retail price as a result. Never had that again, but just because there are few or none on eBay doesn't always mean it's forbidden to sell them."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

As an old (now former) work mate of mine found-out, Burberry really take offence to one of their coats being listed for 99p.Never Knowingly Understood.

That's how i look at it.
