Theres no way I could travel to a medical, so assuming I have a medical at home there will be around 6 cameras recording the proceedings. The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0

If the medical professional was aware of this, they would be within their rights to refuse to undertake the medical. You would be best to speak to them beforehand to ensure this would not be a problem.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Then the question must be asked, why would any health professional not be willing to be recorded, if they were happy that anything they did was honest and truthfull?
That alone should cast doubt upon their actions should they refuse.

Oh my days ...
But you dont know me, what I do, what my profession is etc etc etc.
You know what to 'assume' does dont you?
Should I live long enough to have a visit from an ATOS 'professional' (which I seriousl doubt) they will be informed that the recording devices are running and will not be switched off..
My Doctor and the District Nurses see no problems with them so I fail to see why any other healthcare professional should, unless of course they have something to hide. The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0 -
I took a brand new digital dictaphone which isn't intrusive but does make great clear recordings. I was quite taken aback when he said we couldn't record the assesment, but wasn't going to distress myself any further by arguing the point.
The assesment was torture & I never want to go through it again. It's exsaberated my mental health to the point I'm now seeing the crisis team & have been prescribed strong sleeping tablets.
I am going to inquire whether there is any concessions which state I cannot attend these medicals due to my health. They are then welcome to speak with my GP about my condition if needs be.0 -

The receptionist checked my ATOS appointment letter & asked me to fill in a form stating DOB, full name & signature. However, she did not ask for my ID.
I would recommend putting in a complaint in writing to ATOS that they did not take ID. This is a breach of their rules.
It may seem like a over-reaction but ATOS are measured by how many complaints they get - so every complaint is important.
Direct from ATOS themselves.During your assessment
Upon arrival at our assessment centre, or when talking to you, we have a duty to confirm your identity.the_devil_made_me_do_it wrote: »I sat in the waiting room for over 30 mins before I was called in to see the medical professional; 10 mins prior to appointment time & 20 mins after.

Again, put in another complaint to ATOS in writing (perhaps best to complain seperately on each point, more trouble for ATOS and easier for you to follow up.)
As they by contract are supposed to make reasonable effort to see you within 10 minutes.Breach of the Contract - Common Business Requirements Schedule 4 Section 4.1 Part 1 Final Version - 15 March 2005
5.7 The CONTRACTOR shall use reasonable endeavour to ensure that examinations commence within ten (10) minutes, of their scheduled time, when Claimants arrive in time for their appointment.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

To be fair, you have read enough threads on here to know that they were unlikely to let you record the medical. I am not sure why you went down this route?
You will not get an exemption from the WCA, but if you submit sufficient specialist evidence you may not need a medical.Gone ... or have I?0 -

To be honest dmg, I have never read any threads which have discussed recording medicals. I got the idea from a youtube clip I watched. The guy who recorded the clip said it was essential to record the assesment as a way to collect evidence in case an appeal or complaint needed to be made.
I honestly can't see why ATOS or DWP have a problem with recordings for personal use. I think it's very suspect that they don't allow it.0 -
