I know it sounds crafty but.....

Has anyone tried setting up two standing orders to put money into the Halifax High Interest Regular Saver?

    Two ?

    Why ?

    You mean £250 X 2 = £500 per month ?

That would break the terms and conditions and you would NOT get your 7% on maturity.

I had two credits into my Abbey regular saver for one month because of a cokc-up at their end, and got a letter the next month, saying that I should withdraw the excess amount immediately, else they would treat it like a normal savings account at a lower interest rate.

What you are suggesting (if you're alluding to exceeding the max amount of £250 per month) is a blatant violation of the T&Cs, don't think you should waste your time going that route...
