Apple Support has a very interesting notice available today. It seems that some of the iPod (video) units available for purchase from September 12th contain the RavMonE.exe virus. More details...

It is only 1% of 5.5Gen iPod Videos shipped from 12th September 2006. The 5.5Gen iPod Video are the ones that have better screen blightness and battery life.0

Even so, I'd be a bit cheesed off if mine fell into the 1%

LOL, at Apple's comment - we're disappointed we did this, and also that Microsoft Windows is so vulnerable to viruses. Great spin...0

its funny how Apple said that. We are sorry we did it and its basiclly Windows fault for being so vulnerable to virus. It means you think that apple does not like their Windows customers.0

Apple have consistently shown their disdain for Windows customers by writing sloppy and substandard software. Version 7 of iTunes is a case in point. But then my experience is that they can't do a decent enough job on their own OS. I had the misfortune some years ago to have to support some OS8 and OS9 machines and it was nothing short of dreadful.0 -

MAC zealots in-coming........

I am not going to go too much into it, I am more of a MacSeeALot, than a MacZealot but....
It is a mixture of peoples' "faults". If you look over at the Get A Mac page, you will see them talking about: "No Viruses" and "No hunting for drivers" , "awesome out of the box" - and the reason being is that Apple design everything from the ground up. They don't have to configure their programs to work with 1,000,000 configurations of systems - all carrying different DLL's & integrated differently with the registry.
Apple can write their hardware to work with their OS and coding because they have full control over all the groundlevel pieces.
I am not saying MSoft should start creating their own hardware. Although, if they did - I am pretty sure they would get it to work very well with XP / Vista - and we would see much much less issues. However, they would never be able to do it, as they would be branded even more in the press for being "monopolisers".
You also have to look at the Apple Mac's OS and just agree that it is built on a much better set of building blocks.
People are demanding more every day, and windows has had to build on top of shaky ground & patch holes as they go, where as I really feel that Apple made the better choice initially, and this is why they show their superiority today.0 -

Have to agree. Only upgraded 2 days ago, but it's awful
I think I'll go back to the last version.0
