DVDFAW08 problem

I have just replaced my old DVD player with a new Technika DVDFAW08. It was easy to do -- I just removed the SCART lead from the old DVD player, connected it to the new one instead, and switched everything on. It seemed to be fine, and I tested a DVD out -- all OK.

The trouble is that it has affected my analogue TV picture. If the DVD player is switched to standby, then the TV picture disappears -- although the sound on the TV carries on as if nothing has happened!

I thought that just leaving the DVD player on would solve the problem -- but, when a DVD is not actually being played, it switches itself off after a while, and so the TV picture vanishes too.

Any ideas as to why this might be, and what the solution is ?? Thanks if you know ...... !!
