I received a wem today from FED-EX stating that i had to pick up a parcel. It said i had to download the tracking label to be able to find out what it was and to print off to pick it up. When i tried to download it thinking it was from a comp maybe my anti-virus kicked in and said it was a virus.
Dear client!
Your package has been returned to the FedEx office.
The reason of the return is - Error in the delivery address!
Attached to the letter mailing label contains the details of the package delivery.
You have to print mailing label, and come in the FedEx office in order to receive the packages.
Thank you.
FedEx Global.

Hi
I've received the same e-mail I was just going to post a question on here whether it was genuine. I didn't think it was but as I had never seen this trick before I wasn't 100% sure.
What would they actually gain from such a silly stunt - is there a virus with the attachment - reading your post I can see that there is!
Thanks Cher1977 for posting.0 -
]Don't ever open them.....the attachment is usually Malware!
If your ever in doubt google the message title or some of the content and it will usually find you some information on what type of scam it is from people who have seen it before or this website Hoax Slayer is good for checking scams,
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/
they also have a FB page which is good for checking out all the hoax statuses, applications etc you get on FB. (Its an Australian page but the hoaxes seem to be pretty universal).

Edit - Link to Hoax Slayer page on this particular email scam

Rainey is right, don't ever open them!!
I had the same email early hours of this morning too.
Fed ex or ups or similar would not contact you by email normally, and you should def be wary of emails with attatchments on like that too. They don't have your email address when they have a delivery for you. If ever in doubt contact the company in question, don't click the attatchment! So sorry this has happened to you, i hope your computer will be alright xxx:starmod: May all your wishes come true! :starmod:0 -
I had this too! I went to opened the attachment and it said virus so I didnt open it..He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

A delivery company would never send an email with an attachment to open, I had one of these the other day and I googled it and found out it was a virus, they are hoping our curiosity will get the better of us!0
