Help - Digital Camera Screen Gone Black in photo mode

Has anyone got any advice - I've turned on my Canon digital Ixus i camera after it working perfectly fine last time, to find that in camera mode- all i can see is a black screen and it takes black photos. It is strange because I can still view old pictures..

Sad to say this indicates failure of the CCD (the electronic sensor equivalent to the film) or failure of some part of the circuit connection between the CCD and the processor.0

So that is non repairable?? or would it be really expensive to repair?0

Beyond economic repair I would think particularly if this is the non-zoom model.
It might be worth checking with Canon to see if it's due to the faulty Sony CCD issue http://news.digitaltrends.com/article8651.html
although the Canon Ixus i isn't in that list.0 -
