Donating Clubcard & Nectar Points

I've been looking at re-cycling some old mobile phones and donating the money to charity. With Tesco though I noticed that their is the the option of either collecting the clubcard points for yourself of "donating" to charity (which I guess is a cash alternatative????). If it was actually donating the clubcard points then their must be a charities with their own Clubcard accounts?
It then got me thinking that if when I was paying for my groceries that I did not carry my clubcard or if I did not have an account, would it be possible to donate the points to charity instead of losing them?
I know myself that alot of the time I don't have my card with me, so their must be millions of points not being collected, this of course applies to every other loyalty and rewards scheme out their...
It comes down to if I earn the rewards then I would like to decide what happens to them!!!!!!!!!!

Shops don't provide loyalty points to benefit you, they do it so they can collect huge amounts of valuable data about your spending habits. If points just get collected on one big generic account for a charity, they won't get any useful data off you. So there is no advantage to the store in offering them.
I suppose it would be possible for you to have your own card but ask that your points were automatically assigned to a charity. I suspect that wouldn't be very popular though, as it is more flexible to be able to choose to donate your points as and when. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
recycyling of mobile phones for charity,
if you go to https://www.hemihelp.org.uk they will send you an envelope so you can send the phone to them for recycling and the money raised will benefit them:they are a charity for children with hemiplegia which is a form of cerebral palsy.0 -
You could sell 'points' to someone and then donate the cash received to whichever charity you choose to. Eg. Local hospice, etc.
Eg. dispose of the phones for the highest value, ethically and then donate the money to charity or sell-off the club card points and do the same.0 -

You can already donate Nectar points to charity (NCH) via the Nectar site www.nectar.com
You need to donate in blocks of 250 points.
Obviously, you need to have collected the points to donate them - which is the opposite of donating 'unclaimed' points as you seem to be saying. The best thing would be to make sure that you always use your loyalty cards?0
