Ideal Classic NF30. on first swith on the Pilot lights then ignites main burner and burns as should for about 12 seconds but then main burner goes off, comes on again for about 6 sec, then off, then on again for about 15 sec. This happens about 8 times then all runs smoothly for hours. It happens everytime we switch it on and could be related to some part of system needing to get warm to function properly.? engineer came and said probably gas valve. I am sure it is not that but would appreciate pointers if anyone would advise.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Why do you doubt the engineer?0

because a valve would surely not just be faulty for the first 90 seconds after switch on? Any ideas what would cause it to react as it does but be fine when operating and room thermostat causes it to fire-up periodically?I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
