Some (Big/Proper) Websites Stopped Loading For Me Today

There are some large/proper websites that I use up to 20-30x a day. They always work, no problems, all OK. Let's just pick one http://www.zoopla.co.uk
This morning, I was using my PC (XP) as usual - and about lunchtime I noticed 2-3 websites I use every day were just failing to load. Connection timed out errors were most usual.
So I went to reboot - and I had the "windows XP upgrade" icon on the Switch Off button, so I chose that one and XP updated 5 items.
The PC shut down, I rebooted. Logged on.... still couldn't get to those sites. All others OK, no problems whatsoever with any other sites except the two I kept checking.
I rebooted. This time though, I deleted Avira Antivir and downloaded the latest free personal edition and installed it (been meaning to do it for a couple of weeks, so right then seemed a good idea).
Still couldn't get to those sites. I wondered if it was Avira and turned it off. Still couldn't get to those sites.
So .... next I flushed out the dns cache, through Start -> Run -> cmd
And still, about 12 hours on since I first had the problem, the sites don't load for me. I've checked with other people - they load fine; I checked with http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ and it's just me.
OS: XP Pro
Browsers tried: Firefox and an IE-based one (Maxthon) and proper IE itself.
ISP Service: Three dongle.
Any ideas?
