My daughter only started school in Sept so this will be her first christmas there so this is all new to us too! However I will be sending in Christmas Cards from her but that is it, I don't think presents are particularly necessary at this point. I will however do thank you presents at the end of the school year.0 -
Sorry, not much help now, but when we were in midst of jam making in August, I snaffled away 4 jars for teachers and ta's christmas presents. Going to get the kids to write the sticker, and a (virtually) free, and I hope useful gift.0

We are going to plant crocus bulbs in little pots and decorate the pots, not expensive but a thoughtful pressie I think and a bit different to the usual chocs/biscuits etc. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

I always go for an oxfam / unicef education gift, this year I have gone for "provide a child with a years supply of pens, pencils, exercise books etc. It cost £9.50 and will be sent for the teacher / ta's together. The last two years ds has had jobshare teachers, so this worked out cheaper than trying to get individual gifts for them and the 2 ta's
Its also easy for ds to carry (in an envelope), can't be recycled through the school fete and is good for the charity tooMortgage Total: £51,801 / £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £9470 -
thats a nice gift, as is the jam - that will keep and you wont be snowed under with things to eat there and then'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Has anyone got any suggestions of what I can give to my sons' one to one TA?
My son is autistic and being a handful at school at the moment. This is the first time he's had a one to one and I know she wont be getting gifts from the other parents.
I was thinking of something personal my son could make for her?
Any ideas guys?Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨0 -
As the OH of a teacher, the best gift she had was when several mums clubbed together and booked her a meal in a nice restaurant. (she just said anything when they club together rather than those "best teacher mugs")
ORRRRRRRR
A bottle of Scotch for the husband of the teacher, who has to listen to all the stories about the kids every night, and must just smile and say "yes dear".MSE is a religion and the Arms is its Temple:money:

My two boys have autism so I also make an effort gift wise for their TAs (and teachers but often it's the TAs who must be exhausted some days).
In the past I've sent Yankee Candles, wine (I imagine they need it after a term with one of my boys!), home made bath bombs (easy), when ds1 left the school I made a photo album for his TA who had had him for years, when a teacher left last year I got her flowers and a nice vase - I know the flowers will die but hoped the vase will be a memory for her. This year I'm probably doing ES mints - hopefully the boys will help decorate them and some fudge. Hopefully the boys will decorate the labels. I make an effort with the cards to express how much I appreciate them!0 -

I love this idea. Think it is really thoughtful and could even be used in lessons.0
