travel money for school exchange?

my 14 y/o is going on a school exchange to Germany in 1st week of Dec. He can be forgetful/lose things, so I am wondering if there is an alternative/back up to cash we could send him with?

  • You could use a Fair FX card and pre load it with cash for him http://www.fairfx.com/

I used it in America and was so easy to use (can be used at cash machines for small fee)

Does he have a card with a PIN himself? Will a teacher be travelling with them? Could you make arrangements with them?

I would get im a fair fx card or similar.

Not only is it easy to use, but will be a good stepping stone for your son to learn about looking after his belongings and money, with the security of you being able to cancel it if it does go astray.
