Hi
i am new to this site so hello to everyone. I have come here for help with a question, that is my partner and I have just had a baby and have been told we may be entitled to tax credit's. I worked full time before i had baby but now on maternity. My partner is on bennefits which are Incapacity benefit, industrial injuries and dla. What my question is when filling in my partner income on the form do all those benefits count as income ?
thanks

I'm sorry that you got such a unwelcome reply samantha2010, not much of a welcome to the forums is it!
I think that from my really limited knowledge themonkeybutler has given you correct information. DLA is not classified as income, but the others benefits are.
Hopefully someone will correct this if it's wrong.
Good luck.Just in case you were wondering (some have)..... I'm a woman!0 -

Hi Samantha,
As he has been on it for 2 years then yes it's the full 52 weeks for the year as long term incapacity benefit is taxable.
As you have said that you have just had a baby, you must have your child benefit number before your claim will be assessed by the child tax credits team. It is based on last years income 2009-2010 so as you would have been on a full time wage, this years entitlement might be a bit less than you will get next year. When you go to apply for next years you will be able to deduct 100pound for every week that you were on maternity leave this year.
