Replacement Driving License
The missus lost her photocard license. Bought her a replacement online. Received both photocard license and paper counter part in the post. Does anyone know if we're suppose to send the old counterpart back to the dvla?
My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

Do you mean this...

If so, yes, you are supposed to. I doubt they will chase you for it though. I had my licence nicked a last year and haven't sent the old counterpart back yet.0 -
Just shread it, the issue number will be superseded now anyway!0

If the DVLA ask you to surrender it, it's a legal requirement.
The D1 form usually requests this.0 -
As above... shred it.
If anyone asks, just tell them you lost the counterpart along with the plastic bit.0 -
Thanks for your replies people. My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.0
