PLease help!Amazon account closed for non valid reason

Hi

I have been a a private Amazon seller for a few years now, making approximately a few sales a month.
During that time I've had 100% feedback and never had an issues or problem.

Last week I made some sales, sent them and disembursed the money on Monday as normal, all fine. This week I had a few more sales so decided to disemburse the money today. About an hour later, I received an email saying the payment had been delayed as they did not have valid card information. Now nothing has changed regarding my bank account so I selected my current bank details when prompted. About an hour after that, I received an email from Amazon saying my seller account had been blocked because it is related to an account which has previously been blocked.

Now I've only ever had one Amazon account so I can't see how it is related???

Has anyone had this before and know what I can do?

I've sent an appeal email but was wondering if anyone had any experience. Also I've not received a reply and am wondering if they will actually listen or if it's an automatic process.

I sell books through ebay so find this the best way (unless there are alternative suggestions??)

I recently had a problem with Amazon after selling a high value item. They said I was breaking the rules by having 2 accounts (I only have 1!!) and then suspended my account and held my funds.

I called up support and a very nice lady told me that my account had been linked to someone another one, although she of course could not tell me who or why Amazon's systems had linked us. I also filled in the appeal form, but unfortunately the review team didn't think any of my info was of any consequence and all I got back was a message saying I would hear from them within 30 days!

I finally got my account un-suspended this morning, after sending them another email last night. That took 18 days from start to end, and I still have no explanation as to why they linked me to someone else.

So based on my experience it should get sorted out eventually, but it won't be quick and don't expect Amazon to be forthcoming with info about what's going on!

Thanks for your response. Based on your experience, would you suggest ringing support or waiting for the response to my appeal. All I said in my appeal is what happened, feel like I'm under suspicion! I have sold slightly higher priced books recently but they make a healthy profit from that so I don't know the problem is!

When I phoned up although the person was very nice and sympathetic I was pretty much told that CS couldn't help me, and I couldn't speak directly to the review team, so I'd probably stick with the email. I would then follow it up with another email after perhaps a week or 10 days.

I know how you feel - I felt a bit like they thought I was some kind of criminal!

Well I received a response rate from Amazon and they have already reactivated my account. I received this response

"This message is to inform you that we have reactivated your Amazon.co.uk seller account, and you may now resume listing items for sale on our site.

Amazon Sellers are expected to maintain an order defect rate (the percentage of orders that have received a negative feedback, an A-to-Z Guarantee claim or a service credit card chargeback) of less than 1% of orders received. Excessive levels of order cancellation, refunds or late shipments can also lead to account restrictions."

So I check my customer metric, all 0% so I've fulfilled their criteria perfectly. Therefore I can't see what I did wrong. I think they may have made a mistake and aren't willing to admit it!

It has made me wonder about selling on Amazon now and whether to try anyone else in the future instead of Amazon!

Amazon can be very glitchy. I am in the process of delisting most of my stock as I have given up my pro membership.

I have sorted approx 700 books so far but strangely neough around 150 of them were no longer listed. They don't appear either in my open or my closed listings. No wonder my sales were so poor if that many can disappear.

I've also checked a batch one day, then rechecked the next and found them as though they have suddenly appeared again.

I have just spent the last hour relisting everything on Amazon but am much more of a part time seller. I mostly sell books, DVDs or old DS/Wii game. Where are you thinking of selling and where would you suggest for these items if leaving Amazon?

Amazon was really the only place I ever managed to shift any great numbers of books. At my peak I was selling around 70-80 a month. I sell the occasional one through greenmetropolis, but it isn't really worth the effort for one sale every 6 weeks ro so, and i sell a handful on ebay.

My stock is slowly beig dumped, I freegle some, leave some with charity shops (who don't really want them), use those recycling bins at supermarkets for others. I've got around 1100 still to sort.

If I can't sell them on Amazon then I suspect there is no market for them at all.

I also had a few batches of CDs listed and am in the process of sending off another couple of dozen to musicmagpie and i have freegled a batch of those this week as well.

The games are going to the school Christmas fete.
