a first post and a pretty representative response. Lots of people ready to tell you what to do. It's up to you to sort through and work out which responses come from people who are speaking from their own viewpoint, bias and history and which are trying to speak from yours.
Don't worry, as per my first post, in the extreme case that legal action is taken, only compensation for actual loss or damage can be sought, together with costs of action. As for the legal case against "admitting liability" raised by one post, it seemed from your original post that it was clear that the (brief) overstay had taken place and it was not going to be contested. If you plan to say it never happened, then perhaps indeed, you should not send any communication. Good Luck.
Why contest anything at all ? It makes no difference, there is no independent appeals process, they turn down all appeals themselves, also as you have no legal reason to tell who was driving the vehicle , they will find it extremely difficult to get a judgement!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Exactly. So why do you suggest that a £1 payment plus the cost of recorded delivery is made?
There is no actual loss as it was a free car park.
The person went shopping and it took them 20 minutes longer than someone's made up allowance. They may have chatted to someone, they may have gone to the loo or had a coffee.
Who are the Parking Company acting for ? Not Lidl or the Landowners because they aren't remitting their Parking Charge Notices or any part thereof back to them. The Parking Company suffer no loss whatsoever. Neither have Lidl or the landowners in any event.
They just made up a set of arbitrary rules which they expect unwitting people to pay out on for their own sole benefit.
Why would anyone want to seek any compromise with these sharks let alone encourage them further with a part payment.:eek:0 -
since when is saying "your morals are your own business" a lecture?
I think some posters may be over sensitive about any suggestion that our conduct should be governed by some morals (even if these are set by ourself).
My post actually suggested that the OP send whatever they consider to be fair. I think that suggestion is less lecturing than posts which tell the OP about what "others" consider the fair outcome would be.
There is also the moral consideration that if you did overstay your parking, it is only fair that you pay a fair amount. But your morals are your own business.
It was the highlighted bit that I was referring to.
You may want to calculate an appropriate moral payment to a Parking Company (because there is no other basis). I certainly don't, although it's quite a surreal concept. :T
On the basis of morals, they really owe the Original Poster a really hefty sum for trying to swindle her out of £90 or more.
Sensitive to morals ? Have you ever tried dealing with these people? :rotfl:0
