Welcome PPI... PLEASE HELP X

Hi just in the process of trying to claim my PPI back from welcome.. the loan is dated back from April 2006 and was for £1,500. I had no idea about all this PPI stuff till now, anyway i have contacted Welcome saying im not happy, want to claim it back etc etc and they have now sent me a questionaire to fill out....

Now the loan is paid off and was over 3 yrs, ive dug out the paperwork and it say i paided....
£644.68 for the PPI
£50 FOR MEDICARE
£180 FOR lifecare 24

I honestly had no idea i had been charged this much and honestly thought that i had to have it to get the loan, now they are asking why im not happy, do i just say i thought this all came with the loan and i had to have it, will that be good enough?? please advise anything you think that may help me in getting the PPI back. thanks x

    Hi there

You need to make them aware you did not have any idea of the cost of PPI, as it obvously was not discussed (if this was the case), and tell them because you were not informed any different you assumed the PPI was all part of the loan, if you were told that you had to have the ppi, tell them you were told that (or that you were pressurised,if this applies to you).

Good luck, please keep us posted.;)

  • hi thank you for getting back to me, it defo wasnt talked about how much it was and they said that if i didnt have the insurance i would not be allowed the loan as it was part of their company policy,so just thought it all part of the loan also thinking about it i never recieved any further info on what it exaclty was, though 1 thing that is worring me i that i have just looked at the paperwork and at the bottom it says" i wish to purchase, please tick what applies"
    Medicare
    Lifecare24
    homecare24
    collision call
    other
    Payment protection ins

There is a tick by the medicare, lifecare and PPI then my signature but i swear i cant remember ticking them boxes, i defo signed it but didnt tick any boxes. R they gona be able to use this against me and not pay me back?

    Hiya

I would mention what was said, write they informed you - you would not be allowed the loan without the ppi, even though it was not fully discussed on the full cost of the policy.

Does the tick look handwritten or automated?
There is a chance they ticked it anyway for you.
