Ad-Aware

Is anyone aware of any problems with this software. I have been using it for ages but today things have gone wrong. I am uninstalled it and tried to reinstall but it seems unable to update the definations.

Any clues out there? Is there a bug/virus affecting it?

I've used it for quite a while and never had any major problems with it. If it is just failing to connect for updates, the most likely reason is that the update server is not working or cannot take any more connections. Try it again later.

I agree with Arkad. There does seem to be problem running the update occasionally. See this thread from a couple of weeks ago. Try again later or tomorrow.

Had a problem for the first time with this last week. Just tried again now and everything loaded fine.

Thanks for that. It is now downloaded and updated. However I think I picked up the mydoom virus from a link which took me to what appeared to be the lavasoft site which then directed me to d/l an upgrade to ensure I was receiving the correct updates. Does that make sense?

Anyway I caught the blighter, but be aware and dont get caught like what I did.

When updating adaware you don't go to any website, it's an option from adawre itself which does the download direct
