Testee wrote:How about a Green Board to post suggestions on how to be "green" (no Incredible Hulk jokes please) and places to buy stuff that's environmentally friendly / ecologically sound. Be great to get all this stuff together - like the thread about free longlife bulbs, cheapest place to buy Savaplugs. Where to recycle stuff? etc......
Thats a great idea, as I try and be "green" as much as I can, and anything to reduce the cost would be great0 -
Hi Testee, There is already a thread suggesting this HERE"]HERE
So I am going to merge them.:)0 -
Love the idea of a green board.
I find this site useful as a reference tool
http://www.surefish.co.uk/ethical_living/index.htm
and there is a fantastic organic food delivery organisation for Londoners - I switched for health reasons but find I am eating better and cheaper since using them.

Excuse the link to my own site, but been interested in Fair Trade for ages, and found quite a lot of links... happy to be sent more:

I recently bought a copy of 'the Good Shopping Guide', which had an advert for their own comparison website: https://www.gooshing.co.uk
It works a little bit like kelkoo and the like but has an 'ethical' rating listed with the products search results. Not certain the price comparison bit works as well as it could but the ethical ratings can be useful if you already know what you want. I'm sure this will improve with time though.
The book is quite an interesting read as well, and gives a breakdown of what to avoid (which chemicals / ingredients / companies) and why. With products grouped into categories and listed against a set of 12 criteria. So it marks it easy to draw comparisons against different brands / companies.
Hope this is of some use.0 -

Reminding.
By the way - interesting article in the local paper this week:
Save the planet (and £80,000 of your cash)
"RESEARCH by an Edinburgh University professor is the basis for a new book claiming green living could save people £80,000 each"..........

of everything that comes along their way."
