Old Loan Info

Hello there,
This is my first thread and post on here so forgive me if it has been answered before...
I closed my bank account with Lloyds TSB about 3 years ago (at the moment getting the bank charge information sent to me). I had an old car loan / finance which I took out PPI on and fully paid it also. Unfortuantly I can't seem to find old paperwork and have checked with my old bank also but they don't have any information on it.
Is there anyway to track down the information needed to start the process of clawing back the monies ?
Another question is how long can it go back ? I have been told I can go as far back as 20years aslong as I have the documents to prove it .... Is this piece of information true ?

Hi there
And welcome
They should hold any data on your accounts going back over the last 6 years, so personally I would not verbally ask but do it the proper way by request a Subject Access Request (SAR), there is a template letter for this on link below, you enclose £10 cheque or postal order and they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all they still hold on your account.

My husband received data going back to the late 90's on a request he had received this year from them.
If they are unable to send any details, they must return your payment, with a written letter of an explanation.
Hope this helps, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
