  • how about jacking in the shop and having a market stall instead? This is what we have decided to do as we have set up our business with next to no money, apart from for stock, obviously. Our stall is being made to order as we speak, for less than £200, we sell on our ebay shop and we will be having trade stands at outdoor events next summer, I am sure that pet-related items would go a bomb at country shows etc. there are dozens of events all over the country and the hire of a pitch is quite cheap, the only thing you need to be a trader is liablity insurance , which you get when you join the national market trader's federation. some of the shows that we are doing are: the festival of transport at weston park. the sheffield balloon festival. goodwood festival of speed. the cheshire county show. the staffordshire county show. the llangollen balloon festival. the trentham festival of transport. I don't know where about you are in the country but there must be dozens of country shows, and what about having a stall at crufts?

thanks ive sold a few bits on ebay ,and am going to do a few shows hopefully that will help with the debts i will just have to wait and see what happens with the lease as its outside the tennant and landlord act
  • So sorry to hear that you have decided to cease trading but sounds like there are some good ideas already posted to work on to clear your stock and make some inroads into paying some money off. Don't feel a failure - if you hadn't have done it you would have always thought - I wish I'd...........! See it as a learning curve and pull out the positives from it! Good luck!!
