Right girls fed and content watching a baby einstein DVD... right... so let me start from the beginning...
As you know Ste and I are getting involved with a band. I met the singer on thursday and he was really nice and I've been chatting to him and sharing ideas etc on MSN. We've arranged for Ste to meet him on saturday as we're going to meet him in town for a drink. The band itself is slowly coming together as the guitarists etc are all at uni so won't be able to us the Uni practice rooms until they start again in september. That's fine with us as it gives us some practice time to get used to the tracks etc first.... well I say US... me as Ste hasn't got a drum kit.. therein lies the problem....

SO.. Ste and I have been chatting about options. He can't really get an acoustic (normal) kit because 1) it'd be too loud 2) we don't have the room and 3) it would cost a fortune after he's got it how he wants it. He's been looking at electronic drum kits which are a lot quieter, easier to store, more convinient as you can just plug headphones or a PA into them and off you go plus you get a sound bank of something like 200+ drum sounds so you can get it JUST how you want. Trouble is.... cheapest one we've found is just shy of £500 inc delivery....

Now... on tuesday we will have about £320 in savings... "Why is that important?" I hear you ask.. well.. it's important because while getting excited about the band etc I told Ste that if he found the cheapest one he could he could buy it and if it was any more than £320 he could put it on the citi with a view to paying it off ASAP (couple of months MAX) and piling every spare penny we had straight onto citi.

    Pros -
Ste will have a kit to practice on that won't get us evicted
The one he ORIGINALLY wanted was just over £900
It wouldn't be adding that much to the debt as we'd have the majority saved
    Ste will be happy
Sar will be happy because Ste will stop going on about drum kits and we'll be able to seriously start working on the music.

    Cons -
It means not paying off citi as originally planned
It means adding to our debt.
Ash might decide she wants to take up drumming and trash it

You see the bind I'm in?? :rotfl:

Right, you have £320 towards it already....why don't you challenge yourselves to come up with the other £180, we'll all put our heads together to see if we can come up with some suggestions...

That way it will be guilt free as you wont be adding to the debt, and you will both be able to get involved in doing something that you love.
