I did learn a valuable lesson last night though.. £20 doesn't go very far anymore! Mil gave me £20at 7pm and by 9 it was gone! £6 alone on some beconase for poor ste's hayfever! No wonder we're skint! lol.

That's what scares me - I can take £20 out the cashpoint & have it all spent within the hour! And I get really  about the cost of over-the-counter medications!

Tell ste to go to the doctors and get a prescription. Mine gives me 6 months of clarytin at a time, he would give me nasal sprays and eye drops too if I wanted them. So, 6 months costs me 1 prescription charge, but because you're on tax credits you both should have the exemption card so free hayfever meds.

Well done on egg and I'm glad you had a nice birthday.

there is that community pharmacy thingy too so you might get it without going through GP if you have joined it. Must do this myself but keep forgetting. Could do that today actually. Hmmm will ponder this possibility over a cup of tea. BElated Happy Birthday for yesterday, I got halfway through a post and then the phone rang and I never got back - bit of a day of it yesterday. Glad you got sozzled. My SILs birthdays were yesterday too (and I forgot their cards oops) and my friend's mum, so you are in good company. Baileys and chips sounds good - we used to have pizza and champagne nights if we were ever lucky enough to get a free bottle of bubbles from anyone. They are a good combo trust me. Think we had this as our first meal back home after our honeymoon as it was the only booze left in the house and we had come back from Asda with pizza after a very long journey. No way I was going back out again. It brings back good memories.

And congrats on the Egg card. I think I said "oh thank god" out loud when I heard as it is really going to help you out slashing those remaining debts now that your income is reduced. And should see you through the possibly annoying crossing over of Ste's pay. Brilliant news. It must have been a nailpainting day yesterday as I did mine for the first time in months and they are the most delicious dark almost black red colour, very vampy.

What's all this minion business? What is a minion? Can someone tell me??

    xxx

    definition of minion:

    1. An obsequious follower or dependent; a sycophant.
    2. A subordinate official.
    3. One who is highly esteemed or favored; a darling

I like to think of myself as the third option! but I think I am probably the first!:rotfl:

Hi IA glad you had a good birthday. Just wondering about doing the BT thing with Ste's citi card, my OH tried to BT one of my cc's last year but they wouldn't do it because the cc was in my name not his. Egg may be different though, I think these CC companies make up their rules as they go along!!

You can do the balance transfer into a current account as if you were paying off an overdraft (I did this with egg) So you could get it transferred into the debt account and then pay the citi from there if paying off a card in another name is a problem.

if he can get on with ceretizine dihydrochloride (the only over the counter drug that touches my hayfever ) which is the active ingredient in zirtek antihistamines, then you can currently buy a box of 7 in lidl for about 80p :money: needless to say, pavlov's_dog filled her boots :rotfl:
