I had £200 added to my account last week - just listed as SA. After a bit of panicing, it turned out it was Self Assessment and was my tax refund for last year (I do my self assessment the day I get it online as I am very up to date with all my finances these day - I too have the same complusion to check the online bank account daily!!)
£11.95 is an odd amount though? Are you expecting a refund from anywhere? Or perhaps (heres hoping) that tax credits have worked out the new money and paid the difference already. I find that TC and child benefit tend to pay me the new amounts/difference before they actually notify me!0 -

I normally find that too with tc... our tc isn't due til tomorrow so who knows. Not expecting any refunds as we don't have a debit card with the account. Am only expecting child benefit today, tc tomorrow and paypal on friday! Might call nationwide and ask if I get time... I'm intrigued!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Cradle gig is on friday!! Can't wait!
What you might get hit by is that although allowed to cancel, monthly car insurance is often a form of credit and whilst you can cancel the insurance you may have penalties on the finance, in addition even if no such finance you may have admin. fees. I'd be a bit beware of being lulled into 'cutting outgoings' or cashbacks - if admin fee now of 20 to change insurance even with cashback you may just be borrowing from yourselves in the future....
If Ste now has access to the car  , you might need to electric fence the petrol budget, could you bundle his food, toys and petrol to work money in a specific lump sum and let him budget that himself - save yourself the hassle of constantly modifying the daily spend. One xbox game or 10% in petrol usage is a hell of a lot of small savings on economy sausage casserole and value baby wipes.
I know I'm harsh sometimes - hope it's not taken wrong way.
Have you done the quidco free DVD trials for the odd £15 ?0 -

That's actually not a bad idea.. have a Ste budget instead of seperate petrol budget and daily spends... thanks for that idea.. it'd help him as well as ne'd be responsible for what he spends and save me harping on at him the whole time;) Will have to have a play around with some figures later.....Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
