Haven are great, pools, beaches etc, since kids are young not even tied to school holidays.... A week for a family of 4 is less than an xbox
Thanks for that.. just put in some details to get an idea and it came out as £249 for 3 nights for all of us... bargain! Will have to start saving up when we're debt free!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

If you're after a short break with Haven, we go every year with Sun Holidays (ie the tokens you collect from the Sun newspaper - classy I know lol!). They're supposed to cost £9.99 per person - from experience, it normally works out about £80 for 4 people once you'vre paid for electricity and entertainment passes, but it's still a bargain!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

One of the best holidays we've ever had was Centre Parcs in Jan. It cost us £200 for 4 days all in.
Sarah,
With your determination and perserverance, you will achieve anything you desire.
I would never doubt you could have anything you want, don't short change yourself!

If your not picky on dates and watch out for news group threads / offer codes you should be able to do it for less than £100 for three nights, there are loads of equivalent independents on welsh coast (near to you) with swimming pools.... if Ste has a monday off you could get a 3 nighter on a Thursday for that weekend very cheaply - look for late availability....
We love caravan parks (admittedly in France more than UK).0 -
Right, I know who to ask next time we go to France then! We've only been to Brittany and the Vendee area, but would love to go again when we can afford it. We might think about buying a folding camper at some point (easier to tow than a caravan!) and taking that."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Snaggles-we went with leisure direction to France (Brittany) and it woked out cheaper than keycamp prices but could still use their facilities (like the free kids club). The other week on the travel board, some members were raving about a campsite in (near?) Paris, not too far away from Disneyland Paris.
IA_I echo all the suggestions made for a holiday. Center Parcs does do cheaper prices on certain weeks if you have a pre-school age child in party, there is often offers in paper, and there's a newspaper thread that gives daily offers somewhere (grabbit???) on this site. Def take avantage of the cheaper weeks whilst Ashli isn't at f-time school.0 -
I'll have a look into that thanks Spendless - it will be at least 18 months/2 years until we can afford to go again, but I can have a look and dream!
Funny you should mention Disneyland Paris - DS's cousin (aged 2) is being taken there by her Grandparents in a few weeks, and they keep advertising it on TV, so I've been cringeing every time in case he asks why we can't go - anyway the other day he said 'Oh that's where my cousin is going........looks boring'.......phew!! He then asked if we could go swimming at the weekend - how could I possibly refuse"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
This is the thread I was taking about, that mentions the campsite near Disneyland Paris.

We are going this year, but stopping in a converted farmhouse Oct half term through welcome cottages. We had already got a ferry crossing from Speedfery. It is cheap cos our half term is a week later than the majority of the countrys......shhhhh. I'm hoping the same thing happens next year.0 -

Hey IA, I read your diary every day but never posted before.
£249 is quite pricey for a Haven site for 3 nights.
As others have said keep an eye out for the Sun Holidays. They are starting again this weekend.
We are off in May for 3 nights for the grand sum of £53 :j
We have also booked direct before and paid around £120 for a 3 night holiday and we only go at Bank Holidays as my hubby's work has "set" holidays.
As your children as under school age you could take advantage of going away in school time when again it is cheaper.
Also normally in January Haven start their offers for that year offering ridiculous discounts (like 50%) where you can get a good deal.
Hope this helps.0 -
