Sky tv multiroom set up cost

I am thinking about getting sky multiroom. We currently have sky+. I want to set up sky+ in another room. I know that there will be a monthly fee of £10.25. I can't seem to find out if there is a set up cost and also if there is a charge for the extra box.

Knowing sky, i'm sure there will be a charge! Can anyone help please?

Thank you.

  • Yer there most probably will be a charge for the box and the set up but if you can get hold of a cheap sky+ box (shouldnt be too hard as the sky+HD box is out now). You can probably set it up yourself as you already have the dish there.... local hardware shop for the wire then just simply a case of running the wire from the dish to the box (may involve a small amount of drilling). Then contact sky for a viewing card and pay the £10 a month.... not sure what the set up cost is but check out the web site and it should help www.sky.co.uk a think it used to be about £60 but that was to fix a dish up aswell a think.....

It's currently £85 per TV for install, second box is extra.
  • Looking at the upgrade options for existing customers. It appears you can get a free Sky+HD box + free installation if you take out the new HD pack and multi-room subscriptions for 12 months.

So the cost to you would be an extra £10.25pm (HD pack) and £10.25pm (multi-room), for another 12 months.

    Quote from the small print.
Set-up: Non-standard set-up may cost extra. Standard set-up of Sky+HD box with the HD Pack is free for existing customers with a new Multiroom subscription (otherwise £60 or £15 for Sky+ customers selecting self set-up)

Feel free to correct me if I've misinterpreted their upgrade page here.

I've used satellite for years now, tho' binned sky off long-time ago, and just got the Ross HD sat kit from b&q-offer £50-think back to £79 now.At first got one with white dish but wouldn't recognise usb stick-only usb hdd. A mate got one also but his had a black dish, and an extra usb on the front of the box. What a difference!
I exchanged mine as unable to update software, needs usb stick not hdd, and the new box(twin usb) is great, not missed a beat and even the sd pictures are better than any of my other sat boxes.
I've put a £5 sky quad lnb on my non-sky dish and am running 3 boxes off my old dish.
It's got timer record and one-touch record and plays movies off my pc via usb drive or hdd.
You don't have to keep chucking money at Sly and you don't have to touch dish alignment to have multi-room tv and record facilities.
