Personally I would avoid AMD on laptops. Intel seem to make superior power efficient chips by comparison. Looks cheap and cheerful otherwise. I would try and find a review/specification for the battery life with that AMD chip and see if it will match your needs.
Personally I am after a laptop with 5hrs+ life. So I am looking at the mobile core duo chips. T2300 based something like that though that probably puts me in the post 600quid ballpark.
Screensize is another drain on the battery smaller is better though not necessarily more desirable.
It looks heavy at 4.4Kilos. Hard drive space looks ok at 60GB and memory OK at 512MB worth considering upgrading to 1GB.
Thats it

I agree that the Intel notebook processors are better for battery life. The Sempron processor is also a single core and dual core processors have advantage in multi-tasking(An example is when you are running a virus check and surfing the internet at the same time). However for general stuff which does not require load of processing power and if you do need long battery life the Sempron should be speedy enough!!
Having seen the NX6000 series notebooks myself I was impressed by their design and good build quality. I think they look quite nice too!0
