Kodak battery help please

Hi I've got a kodak easyshare Z710 I ordered a battery for it then realised that it was a rechargeable one ,I'd like to know am I better of buying a battery recharger and using rechargeable batteries or should I buy a new battery everytime -they cost about £10-12 but do take about 300 photos?

Looking on amazon one review says it eats batteries, the tech spec on there says it can also use 2xAA NiMH rechargableS which is the way I'd go- http://www.amazon.co.uk/HAHNEL-TC-SMART-CHARGER-BATTERIES/dp/B0018D15M0/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1289472444&sr=1-5
Can get more higher power batteries but this type of charger is good.

Invest in a new camera that uses a mobile phone style rechargable battery. It'll prove WELL worth it in the long run.

Ones that take AA or pseudo AA batteries chew through them like there's no tomorrow and end up costing you an absolute fortune. Its one of the first things to look for in any digital camera you buy these days.

Find a good review site for other good/bad points on any camera you might be considering buying

I totally disagree with this and you have not answered the OP's question. The OP may have only just got this camera, so your suggestions are not helpful.

Far better to buy a good quality delta V charger e.g. here and some high capacity rechargables e.g. here. This would effectively give two sets of batteries, one set in use while the second set are charging for an outlay of approx £10 delivered.

Its a 2006 model with very mixed/mediocre reviews.... if OP has just got it that would be a very good thing and they should get sending it back for a refund ASAP!

failing that they can follow you suggestion, just don't blame me when they are persistently stuck with flat batteries after half a day and miss taking photos when they are on holiday etc etc....

I like forums and have been helping some people for years

It's not the help is the spamming of your website address's that take more space than your reply.
