Help, Paid Parking Fine in fear !!

Just wondered if anyone can offer me any advice. My daughter received a parking 'fine' from Parking Eye for overstaying her time when queueing at a book signing event locally. It was held at an Asda store and she parked in the car park assigned to Matalan who have Parking Eye checking up for them. The Asda car park was full and one of the trolley collectors told her she could park anywhere.
As soon as the 'fine' arrived I paid it as I was afraid of the wording in the letter and also the threat that it would increase from £50 to £110 if not paid within 7 days.
There has been a lot of publicity locally about other people who have incurred such charges but Parking Eye have refused to comment.
Bearing in mind I have paid it, is there ANYTHING I can do?
Thanks in advance of any help

You cannot hope to see it again. (Why did you interfere if it was your daughter's ticket)
Good luck on resolving this family issue (will you get the money off the "culprit").
At least you won't pay up next time! (Hopefully)0 -
I am afraid you fell for their little trick the ticket you received was purposely made to look official hence it frightened you into paying! You have referred to it as a "fine" which was their intent! When in fact it is no more then a letter asking for a donation of £50.
I think you will have to forget about the fee paid there are options open to you but I am afraid it would be difficult if not impossible .0 -
Thanks for the replies, you have confirmed what I already knew really !!
Live and learn will have to be my motto on this one !!:sad:0
