Can anyone help? None of the 4 USB ports on my laptop are working, I installed Kaspersky 2011 on Tuesday and I think this is when they stopped working, although it could be a coincidence.

Whats the make and model of the laptop?
Try downloading the chipset drivers for the laptop and reinstall from the manufacturers website if you don't have them on disk. This will fix the problem if the drivers are corrupted somehow. But sounds a bit bizarre that all USB ports are dead. How did you determine this? Perhaps the device plugged into the port if faulty? Try charging a phone or an optical mouse in the port to see if the lazser comes on.0 -
Thanks for taking the time to reply, I have since read the Kaspersky forum and see that lots of people have had the same problem with KIS 2011 version.
If anyone else has this problem this is how I sorted it.
Uninstall the 2011 version,
Do system restore to a date when USB ports worked,
Reinstalled the "old" 2010 version and reactivated it with the new activation code.
Although I am running an earlier version it is working far better than the newest version.0 -
This is very interesting to me - as all the USB ports on my computer stopped working when I installed Kaspersky 2011.
However, now I have a problem in that I can't uninstall Kaspersky without using the mouse and as the mouse was plugged into a usb port that no longer works - I tried a non USB mouse in the non USb port but that didn't work - any suggestions?0 -
You mean a PS2 mouse in a PS2 port?
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode and seeing if the mouse works from there? No free lunch, and no free laptop
