Getting electricity meter & meter board moved

Hi,

I'm need to get my electricity meter and meter board moved from under the stairs to the the opposite wall. Does anyone know who I need to contact and what the process is for this please?

I need to get them moved as we're renovating this space to become a downstairs loo. I would estimate that the meter and meter board date from the 70s or 80s (just in case that's relevant)
Thanks!

It is you local electricity distbibution company that need to do this as it involves moving the intake cable and cutout (fuse). See map at http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Electricity/AboutElectricity/DistributionCompanies/ to find out whose yours is. No one else can do this work.

BE WARNED - this will cost hundreds or possibly thousands depending on what work they have to do to move the main intake cable.

Thanks spiro. I used the map to find my DNO (EDF) and called them only to be told that they weren't my DNO. I ended up calling about 10 different places only to find out that it was EDF afterall and I'd been given misinformation!

Incase anyone else is searching this thread and wants the information. If you are moving your meter a short distance on the same wall, it is your supplier who deals with this. If not, it is your DNO. I was told it will take 10-12 weeks and will cost between 700-1200. Someone is coming out to my house tomorrow to survey the job and give a proper quote.

I'm also going to talk to a builder and find out if there's a way to keep the meters where they are and still be able to have a downstairs loo there.

    I appreciate the advice!
