Faulty motorbike - where do i stand?

just to give you a full outline

week 1 - rang up to buy my bike, am told one is in stock but promised to a dealer, need to ring back next wek to see if the dealer has ordered it or not

week 2 - rang up, was tol te bike was still there, bought the bike in full. am told the person who registers the bike is back on wednesday and he'll give me a call
thursday - rang up since they hadnt called me, was told the bike wasnt in stock anymore and to call back tomorrow
friday - confirmed it wasnt in stock, was told it would arrive on tuesday and they would call me then

week 3 - rang up on wednesday (since they hadnt called me again) to be told it had been taken by customs and would be with them in 2 days
thursday - they called me and said it had to be delivered on friday or else it would be weeks before they could deliver it
friday - it gets delivered, doesnt come with all the papers or tax disc so i cant ride it (it says on the website it arrives 'ready to ride')
saturday - tax disc and a V948 certificate arrives, i buy the license plate
sunday - i ride the bike for the first time, petrol leaks out the top of the tank

week 4 - i ride my bike for the second time, it starts leaking petrol at about 1/4 tank per hour, try ringing the dealer i bought it from and they arent open on a sunday

week 5 - monday - i ring the dealer and they say its only a little fault, any garage can fix it. i ask for warrenty info and they say i need to speak to someone else and to ring him tomorrow
tuesday - garage pick up my bike, i ring the dealer and they say i have just missed the guy i need to speak to and to ring back tomorrow
wednesday - i ring the dealer, the guy isnt there and will ring me up when he gets in, the garage ring and there are 2 problems with the bike, both of which have been caused when the dealer put the bike together and will cost me £70 to fix. Also my insurance ring up to say the bike isnt registered and i need to send my V5 certificate in (which i havent recieved yet, i rang the DVLA and it is registered)

so basically ive had enough of this bike already, gos knows what else could go wrong with it, i want to return it, i dont want to pay delivery charges and i want to be reimbursed for the cost of the garage fixing the bike, do i have any rights to demand this?

repost onto the consumer board, i think you may have a case under the DSR, distance selling regulations. there are people on there who will sort you out easily enough, you have more rights under these than the normal sale of good act. also can you claim back on your credit card?

There are good deals to be had over the net unfortunately there are some cowboys and seems like you bought your bike from the lone ranger.

Did you buy one of those cheapo Asian bikes?

If you want to reject the bike as unfit for purpose, time is of the essence. I would suggest you speak to a solicitor asap.

We all learn by our mistakes. Next time buy a quality product from a reputable bike dealer.
